In the morning, I drove with Ayako to the Ivy Plaza, a community center in the downtown, to see an exhibition of little plaster dolls made by Ms Masumi Miyatake, an artistic doll maker who lives in Higashikawa near Asahikawa. The dolls were mostly of those of farmers before or during World War II, so the expressions on the faces of the dolls were very familier to us who had lived in the era.
