I can hardly wait for spring to come.

Last week,we had some warm days, and the snow around my house seemed to have almost melted away. But, yesterday was a windy, cold day. This morning, snow fell and covered the roads again, though not so deep. I had to shovel out the snow before I started on my routine walk. This time of every year,I can hardly wait for spring to come. Ayako often receives emails from Sachiyo's mother in Shikoku, where spring flowers are begining to bloom. ( Sachiyo is our son's wife ) How envious!
Tomoko, my old friend in our junior high school days, sent me an e-mail attached her photo which was taken in front of her family altar with her granddaughter. In the altar, I could see her late husband's photo, too. He looks like a very gentle, kind man. Tomoko is suffering from a serious disease of her lungs. Her husband was caring for her, but, alas, he got cancer and passed away. When I went to Narugo, Miyagi prefecture, to attend our reunion last September, it was reported by the party organizers. After returning home to Hokkaido,I began to write letters to Tomoko living in Sendai with her son's family, asking how she is getting along. I wish I could make her cheer up,even if only a little.
