Picked butterbur sprouts - a sign of spring.

I walked toward Kawazoe cho today, and in the little park along the Koitoi creek, I collected some butterbur sprouts to eat them dressed with vinegared miso. We can "taste" spring eating them. The temperature is still low, and it was snowing in the afternoon, but in my garden, yellow flowers of fukujuso or amur adonises are coming out. It is spring at long last which I had been waiting.
